Mike Appleton brings over 15 years of experience in the aviation technology industry. As CEO of AI Crew Solutions, he is leading the company into its next stage of growth with a focus on modular, AI-powered crew management.

 

Mike’s vision is centered on helping airlines adopt smarter, scalable solutions that improve efficiency and reliability across operations.

Erwin Ponce founded ELP Aviation (AICS Predecessor) in 2010, drawing on more than 30 years of experience in airline operations. What began as a consulting and reporting business has grown under his leadership into a global software provider, now known as AI Crew Solutions.

 

Today, as Chief Product Officer, Erwin guides the development of AICS’s modular, AI-driven platform, ensuring it solves the same operational challenges he once faced in the SOC.

Managing Director of Product Delivery

Sara brings extensive aviation experience across both crew scheduling and union leadership. She has spent her career advocating for crews while keeping operations running smoothly, giving her a rare ability to see challenges from every side. Known for her calm, decisive leadership, Sara jumps in wherever she’s needed, aligns teams quickly, and drives complex projects across the finish line. Her determination, work ethic, and deep industry knowledge make her a trusted partner to crews, schedulers, and executives alike.

Chief Technology Officer

As CTO, Diddi leads the development team and shapes the technical architecture behind AICS solutions, with a focus on clean, efficient code and scalable system design. He also plays a key role in developing AICS’s AI roadmap, identifying opportunities to responsibly integrate emerging technologies across the product suite. Through technical leadership and mentorship, Diddi helps turn complex operational challenges and forward-looking ideas into practical solutions for airlines.
